We all have talents, skills, potentials and abilities that are buried inside us. Personal development is when a person takes time to develop some of these talents, potentials, abilities found within them in order to become a better version of themselves.
Remember that this journey is not an outward one that concerns your conscious mind. It is an inward journey that concerns your subconscious mind. You go into your subconscious mind and unleash or ignite the talents, potentials and abilities that have laid there dormant for years. As John Maxwell says ”All you need to do is to cultivate those seeds, water and feed them and they will begin to grow.
Do you know that your subconscious mind rules your conscious mind? Your conscious mind is only 20% active while your subconscious mind is 80% active. That is why you must be careful with the words you feed your subconscious mind with. Your subconscious mind does not know when you are joking or when you are serious.
WHY IS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT IMPORTANT?
The key to your better future is personal development or self investment. It is not about the number of degrees or certificates or diplomas that you graduated from school that matters. It is not whether you are a PHD holder or a professor from the world’s renounced university tat matters. After all, Elon Musk and Bill Gates are not university professors. Neither is it the number of cars or houses or material wealth that you acquire that defines your life. For it is who you become.
What impact are you creating in the world or in your community? How are you influencing the world? what legacy will you leave behind? What do you want to be remembered for? Your answers to these questions is what will give you satisfaction and fulfilment. You will never find fulfilment and satisfaction in life so long as you have not discovered who you are and the purpose for which you were born. The day you discover who you are and the purpose for which you were born, you become transformed and you put yourself on mission to fulfill this purpose. You set yourself on fire.
When i talk of who you are i am not talking about your academic qualifications, I am not asking to know whether you are a teacher, lawyer, pastor or nurse, I am asking you this question to know your real essence in the tapestry of life. Who are you? Personal development will help you answer this question.
